Miss Hayley
Certified Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, & First Aid in 2015
Certified YMCA Swim Instructor in 2016
Certified Water Safety Instructor in 2017
After many years growing up with afterschool swim lessons at The YMCA, Hayley developed a love for swimming. Once old enough to get a job, she immediately got her lifeguarding certifications and quickly transitioned into teaching lessons. Hayley got her swim lesson training at The YMCA of Greater Syracuse in 2016. During her two years of teaching at that location, she gained experience with every level and age group from mommy & me all the way up through swim team preparation. Hayley also taught private swim lessons for teens 16 - 18 years with beginner swimming experience and adults who had traumatic drowning experiences at a young age. This taught a wide range of knowledge such as skills for introducing children into the water for the first time, explaining technique to someone who has never heard swimming terms before, and helping people build confidence to overcome their fears in the water.
Hayley also picked up a summer job in high school working at Sehr Park in Syracuse, New York. She spent 4 years there teaching lessons, lifeguarding during open swim, and becoming pool manager at the park. In 2017, Hayley got her water safety instructor certification and taught group lessons at Sehr Park using the American Red Cross swim lesson curriculum.
After moving to Florida, Hayley started teaching mobile swim lessons and spent 2 summers driving all over Brevard County teaching lessons in people’s backyards and community pools. This was where her true passion of teaching was found. Working one-on-one with students (as opposed to large group lessons with 6 – 8 kids in the pool at once) gave the opportunity to see how much a child can truly progress in just a few short lessons. Hayley stives to provide the most individualized lesson possible while focusing her energy on helping your child grow and develop to achieve their goals in the pool. Thank you for trusting Hayley to teach your kiddos how to love the water just like she does.
